Dialogic

Dialogic — Igniting Innovation in Multimedia Applications
Mission: Enable secure multimedia processing through any network to and from any endpoint in the world.
Dialogic is a catalyst for multimedia applications, delivering cutting-edge technology that inspires solution providers and application developers to create pioneering voice and video services. Beginning in 1984, Dialogic was at the forefront of the Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) revolution, and is now fostering breakthrough voice, fax, and video value-added services. Its open-systems-based media and signaling products have allowed Dialogic to become a leader in the convergence of IT and telecom, just as it championed economical and rapid time-to-market CTI solutions in the 1980s and 1990s.
Some of the breakthrough applications that partners have created with Dialogic® technology include Voice Mail, Fax, and IVR in the 1980s; Unified Messaging, VoIP Gateways, and CRBT in the next two decades; and more recently, Mobile Video Messaging, Video SMS, and IVVR.
Enabling High-Revenue Services
Advanced services require complex multimedia processing, security, and protocol engines, which must be continually updated to keep pace with evolving standards and innovations. By relieving developers of this complexity, Dialogic® platforms help keep costs down and allow developers to focus on delivering innovative applications in a highly volatile and demanding environment — long before their competition.
Dialogic specializes in enabling high-revenue services. It provides multimedia engines for video, voice, conferencing, and fax, along with network-edge infrastructure products. These products include TDM-IP voice and video gateways; SS7 and SIGTRAN signaling; and IP-to-IP border elements with security services, such as SIP mediation.
Video
Video has seen enormous growth on the internet recently, and is on the verge of conquering mobile networks as well. Dialogic is poised to leverage its vast network of channels and partners and its extensive multimedia processing experience to enable its ecosystem to create innovative video applications for both the internet and mobile networks.
By providing video-enabled engines that support direct IP streaming as well as connectivity to existing and new mobile devices, Dialogic is allowing its partners to bring video to their already successful high-revenue applications by migrating CRBT to VRT, Voice Mail to Video Mail, IVR to IVVR, SMS to Video SMS, Conferencing to Video Conferencing, and LBS to Video-Enabled LBS. In addition, unique new video applications based on Dialogic® technology (for example, surveillance) have energized new markets.
Dialogic is poised to lead in video technology through the pioneering work of Dialogic® Media Labs (DML). DML is powering the next generation of IP video applications by developing leading-edge software for video advertising, quality measurement, image tracking, and improved video quality. DML’s work allows a more intelligent use of video as well as a more satisfying viewer experience. By adding DML breakthroughs to its video-enabled engines for IP streaming and enriching connectivity to mobile devices, Dialogic is enabling the rapid deployment of video-based services with superior quality on mobile and converged networks.
Boosting Efficiency for Businesses in Transition
Dialogic focuses on helping business customers break down silos and move to an all-IP environment. By IP-enabling its traditional media products, Dialogic smoothes the transition from TDM to IP. Only minimal application changes are needed for significantly increased ROI, instead of a major investment in new equipment. Developers adding IP and video to enterprise applications (messaging, IVR, call center systems, and conferencing) can continue to use a familiar programming environment, even when adding web-ready Dialogic® multimedia engines.
Always an innovator, Dialogic was an early enabler of unified messaging and hybrid IP-TDM CPE-based networks through PBX integration gateways. Based on this pioneering work, Dialogic became a specialist in enterprise gateway technology, and helped bring unified communications and collaboration to the enterprise by seamlessly bridging PBXs and IP networks.
Dialogic continues to supply not only its world-renowned traditional hardware technology for highly scalable and reliable media processing, but also software that brings extraordinarily efficient media and fax processing to an IP environment. Dialogic is also continuing its role as a pioneer in document management and fax by introducing Fax over IP that supports V.34 and T.38 — another in a long line of Dialogic firsts.
Dialogic: A Company Committed to Growth
Dialogic is a pioneer in enabling interactive mobile video services and applications, and its multimedia processing platforms are catalysts in delivering the first generation of these exciting new services. Dialogic continues to be a champion of open standards and is now leading the move from voice to video, just as it has led the move from TDM to IP and from DSP to HMP. Dialogic is also supporting special initiatives in web communications platforms, open source, and intelligent video IP streaming and analysis.
Dialogic has shipped more than 60 million ports worldwide, has been issued over 76 unique registered patents, has over 60 patent pending applications filed and has sparked many industry firsts in areas such as VoIP and Mobile Video. As a result, Dialogic technology is deployed in over 90% of today’s Fortune 2000 companies and in the vast majority of service provider networks in 80+ countries.
Chances are the next time you hear a unique ring-tone, watch a video on your mobile handset, or move speedily into a call center queue, you are benefitting from Dialogic’s decades of leadership in communications technology.
